حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي غَالِبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو وَهُوَ ابْنُ طَلْحَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى هُوَ سَمَّى الْمَدِينَةَ طَابَةَ قَالَ جَابِرٌ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُهُ.
English Translation
Abdullah narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Abi Ghalib narrated to us: Amr, who is Ibn Talhah, narrated to us: Asbat narrated to us from Simak, from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: Madinah was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: "Allah, Blessed and Exalted, named Madinah 'Tabah'." Jabir said: And I heard him.
