حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي ثَوْرِ بْنِ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ جَدِّهِ وَهُوَ جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ فِي مَبَارِكِ الْإِبِلِ فَقَالَ لَا تُصَلِّ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ فَقَالَ صَلِّ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ فَقَالَ تَوَضَّأْ مِنْهُ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ فَقَالَ إِنْ شِئْتَ تَوَضَّأْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ لَا تَتَوَضَّأْ.
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked about praying in the resting places of camels, and he said: 'Do not pray there.' He was asked about praying in the sheep pens, and he said: 'Pray there.' He was asked about performing ablution after eating camel meat, and he said: 'Perform ablution after it.' He was asked about mutton, and he said: 'If you wish, perform ablution; if you wish, do not.'
