English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sent a message to a village at a distance of four farsakhs — or he said two farsakhs — on the day of Ashura. He commanded whoever had eaten to stop eating for the rest of the day, and whoever had not eaten to complete his fast.
