حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْعُدُ قَعْدَةً ثُمَّ يَقُومُ.
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah was asked how the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to deliver the sermon. He said: 'He used to deliver the sermon standing, then he would sit briefly, then stand again.'
