English Translation

'Abd al-Samad told us, Abu al-Ashhab told us, 'Amir al-Ahwal told us -- an elder of his -- from 'A'idh ibn 'Amr, who said: I think he attributed it to the Prophet -- he said: "Whoever is offered something of this provision, let him use it to expand his provision; but if he is not in need of it, let him direct it to someone more in need of it than himself." 'Affan told us, Hammad told us, Thabit informed us, from Mu'awiya ibn Qurra, from 'A'idh ibn 'Amr: that Suhayb, Salman, and Bilal were sitting -- and he mentioned something similar, except that he said, "So he came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and informed him of that, and he said, 'O Abu Bakr...'" Rawh told us, Bistam ibn Muslim told us, he said: I heard Khalifa ibn 'Abdullah al-Ghubari say: I heard 'A'idh ibn 'Amr al-Muzani say: While we were with our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him -- and he mentioned the hadith of asking for charity.
