English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun told us, from al-Hasan, from Abu Karima -- a man from the people of Basra told me -- from Qabisa ibn al-Mukhariq, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said to me, "O Qabisa, what has brought you?" I said, "My age has advanced and my bones have grown frail, so I have come to you so that you may teach me something by which Allah, Mighty and Majestic, may benefit me." He said, "O Qabisa, you do not pass by a stone, a tree, or a clod of earth but it asks forgiveness for you. O Qabisa, when you have prayed the dawn prayer, say three times: 'Glory be to Allah the Mighty, and praise be to Him' -- you will be protected from blindness, leprosy, and paralysis. O Qabisa, say: 'O Allah, I ask You from what is with You, pour upon me from Your bounty, spread over me Your mercy, and send down upon me from Your blessings.'"
