English Translation
Affan told us, Aban al-Attar told us, Budayl ibn Maysarah told us, Abu Atiyyah, a client of ours, told us, from Malik ibn al-Huwayrith, who said: He used to come to us at our place of prayer, and when the prayer was established, it was said to him: "Step forward and lead us in prayer." He said: "Let one of you pray until I tell you why I do not lead you in prayer." When the people had prayed, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When one of you visits a people, he should not lead them in prayer; rather, a man from among them should lead them in prayer."
