حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَوْلًى لِآلِ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ أَنَّهُ دُعِيَ إِلَى شَهَادَةٍ مَرَّةً فَجَاءَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ فَقَامَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ فَقَالَ نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ الرَّجُلُ لِلرَّجُلِ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ فِيهِ وَأَنْ يَمْسَحَ الرَّجُلُ يَدَهُ بِثَوْبِ مَنْ لَا يَمْلِكُ.
English Translation
Hashim b. al-Qasim narrated to us: Shu'ba narrated to us, from 'Abd Rabbihi b. Sa'id, who said: I heard a freedman of the family of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, known by the name Abu 'Abdullah, say: I heard Sa'id b. Abi al-Hasan al-Basri narrating from Abu Bakra, that he was once called to give testimony, so he came to the house, and a man rose from his seat for him. He said: "The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade us, when a man rises for another man from his seat, that he sit in it; and forbade a man from wiping his hand on the garment of one who does not permit it."
