English Translation

Abu 'Amir narrated to us: 'Abd al-Jalil narrated to us: Ja'far b. Maymun narrated to me: 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakra narrated to me, that he said to his father: "O father, I hear you supplicating every morning: 'O God, grant me well-being in my body; O God, grant me well-being in my hearing; O God, grant me well-being in my sight; there is no god but You' — repeating it three times when morning comes and three times when evening comes; and you say: 'O God, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty; O God, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave; there is no god but You' — repeating it three times in the morning and three times in the evening." He said: "Yes, my son, for I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, supplicating with them, so I love to follow his way."
