حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ صُحَارٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُخْسَفَ بِقَبَائِلَ حَتَّى يُقَالَ مَنْ بَقِيَ مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ يَعْنِي الْعَرَبَ لِأَنَّ الْعَجَمَ إِنَّمَا تُنْسَبُ إِلَى قُرَاهَا.
English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun told us: al-Jurayri informed us, from Abu al-Ala ibn al-Shikhkhir, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Suhar al-Abdi, from his father, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The Hour will not come until tribes are swallowed up by the earth, until it will be said: 'Who remains of Banu so-and-so?'" So I understood that he meant the Arabs, because non-Arabs are attributed to their villages [not their tribes].
