English Translation

Abu Ahmad told us: Khalid - meaning Ibn Tahman - told us, from Nafi' ibn Abi Nafi', from Ma'qil ibn Yasar, who said: I performed ablution (wudu) for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) one day, and he said: "Would you like to visit Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her?" I said: "Yes." So he stood up leaning on me and said: "Someone other than you will bear her burden, but her reward will be yours." He said: It was as if I had no burden upon me at all, until we entered upon Fatimah, peace be upon her. He said to her: "How do you find yourself?" She said: "By Allah, my grief has intensified, my poverty has intensified, and my illness has lengthened." Abu Abd al-Rahman [Abdullah, son of Ahmad] said: I found in my father's book, in his own handwriting, in this hadith, that he said: "Are you not pleased that I married you to the foremost of my nation in accepting Islam, the most knowledgeable of them, and the most forbearing of them?"
