English Translation
Abu Ubaydah Abd al-Wahid ibn Wasil told us: Salm - meaning Ibn Zarir - and Abu al-Ashhab told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Tarafah, that his grandfather Arfajah ibn As'ad had his nose injured during the Age of Ignorance on the Day of al-Kulab; so he made himself a nose of silver, but it began to smell foul on him, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to make himself a nose - meaning of gold. Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us: Abu al-Ashhab told us: Abd al-Rahman ibn Tarafah told us, from his grandfather Arfajah ibn As'ad, that his nose was injured on the Day of al-Kulab during the Age of Ignorance, and he mentioned the hadith likewise.
