English Translation
Zakariyya ibn Adi told us: Ubaydullah informed us, from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, from Husayn ibn Qabisah, from Samurah ibn Jundub, who said: A bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was delivering a sermon, interrupting his sermon, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about lizards (dabb)?" He said: "A nation among the Children of Israel was transformed [into animals]; Allah, Blessed and Exalted, knows best into which beasts they were transformed."
