حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ حَدَّثَ بِحَدِيثٍ وَهُوَ يَرَى أَنَّهُ كَذِبٌ فَهُوَ أَحَدُ الْكَاذِبِينَ.
English Translation
Waki' told us: Shu'bah said, and al-Hakam told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Samurah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever relates a hadith while believing it to be false is one of the liars.
