حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ الْهُذَلِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْحَيِّ أَنَّ يَعْلَي بْنَ سُهَيْلٍ مَرَّ بِعِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا يَعْلَي أَلَمْ أُنَبَّأْ أَنَّكَ بِعْتَ دَارَكَ بِمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ قَالَ بَلَى قَدْ بِعْتُهَا بِمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ قَالَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ بَاعَ عُقْدَةَ مَالٍ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهَا تَالِفًا يُتْلِفُهَا.
English Translation
Abd as-Samad told us, Muhammad ibn Abi al-Malih al-Hudhali told us, a man from the tribe told me, that Ya'la ibn Suhayb passed by Imran ibn Husayn, and he said to him: "O Ya'la, was I not informed that you sold your house for a hundred thousand?" He said: "Yes, I sold it for a hundred thousand." He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Whoever sells a fixed property, Allah, Mighty and Sublime, will set upon the proceeds a ruinous agent to destroy it.'"
