حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ فَقُمْنَا فَصَفَفْنَا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا نَصُفُّ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ وَصَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا نُصَلِّي عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ.
English Translation
Affan told us, Bishr ibn al-Mufaddal told us, Yunus ibn Ubayd told us, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, from Abu al-Muhallab, from Imran ibn Husayn, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Your brother the Negus has died, so stand and pray over him." He said: We stood and formed ranks over him as we form ranks over the dead, and we prayed over him as we pray over the dead.
