English Translation
Hajjaj narrated to us, Shubah narrated to us, from Sayyar ibn Salamah, who said: My father and I entered upon Abu Barzah and asked him about the prayer times of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He said: 'He used to pray Dhuhr when the sun passed its zenith. He prayed Asr, and a man could return to the farthest part of Madinah while the sun was still lively. As for Maghrib,' Sayyar said: 'I forgot it.' 'He did not mind delaying Isha until a third of the night. He disliked sleeping before it and conversing after it. He would pray the morning prayer, and a man could recognize the face of his companion sitting next to him. He used to recite between sixty and one hundred verses in it.' Sayyar said: 'I do not know whether in one of the two units or in both.'
