حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعٌ يَعْنِي أَبَا سَعِيدٍ النَّصْرِيَّ عَن مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَن أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةَ مَرْحُومَةٌ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَذَابَهَا بَيْنَهَا فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ دُفِعَ إِلَى كُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَدْيَانِ فَقَالَ هَذَا يَكُونُ فِدَاءَكَ مِنْ النَّارِ.
English Translation
Muhammad b. Sabiq told us: Rabi' - that is Abu Sa'id al-Nasri - told us, from Mu'awiya b. Ishaq, from Abu Burda - Abu Burda said: My father told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "This nation is shown mercy - Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has placed its punishment among its members, so that when the Day of Resurrection comes, a man from among the people of other religions will be handed over to every individual of them, and it will be said, 'This will be your ransom from the Fire.'"
