حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي مَعْبَدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ وَلَا تُسَافِرُ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَّا وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ وَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ امْرَأَتِي خَرَجَتْ إِلَى الْحَجِّ وَإِنِّي اكْتَتَبْتُ فِي غَزْوَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ انْطَلِقْ فَاحْجُجْ مَعَ امْرَأَتِكَ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A man must not be alone with a woman, and a woman must not travel except with a mahram (close male relative)." A man came and said: "My wife has gone out for Hajj, and I have enlisted for such-and-such military expedition." He said: "Go and perform Hajj with your wife."
