قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يَأْكُلْ بِشِمَالِهِ وَإِذَا شَرِبَ فَلَا يَشْرَبْ بِشِمَالِهِ وَإِذَا أَخَذَ فَلَا يَأْخُذْ بِشِمَالِهِ وَإِذَا أَعْطَى فَلَا يُعْطِي بِشِمَالِهِ.
English Translation
Yahya ibn Abi Kathir said: Abd Allah ibn Abi Talhah narrated to me, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When one of you eats, let him not eat with his left hand; and when he drinks, let him not drink with his left hand; and when he takes, let him not take with his left hand; and when he gives, let him not give with his left hand."
