English Translation
Hushaym narrated to us: al-Shaybani informed us, from Abd Allah ibn Abi Awfa, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on a journey in the month of Ramadan. When the sun set, he said, "Dismount, O so-and-so, and mix us a drink." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is still daytime." He said, "Dismount and mix it." He did so and gave it to him, and he drank. When he had drunk, he gestured with his hand toward the west and said, "When the sun sets from here, night comes from here, and the fasting person has broken his fast."
