English Translation

Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd al-Samad narrated to us: Mansur narrated to us, from Ibrahim, from Hammam ibn al-Harith, from Adi ibn Hatim, that he asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "I release the trained dog, and it catches (the game)." He said, "If you release your trained dog and mention the name of Allah, Mighty and Sublime, and it catches it, then eat." I said, "And if it kills it?" He said, "Even if it kills it." I said, "I shoot with the mi’rad." He said, "If it strikes with its sharp edge, eat; and if it strikes with its broad side, do not eat."
