English Translation
Affan told us: Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad told us: Asim al-Ahwal told us, from Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, senility, cowardice, and miserliness, and from the punishment of the grave. O Allah, grant my soul its piety and purify it; You are the best of those who purify it; You are its Guardian and Protector. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a heart that does not humble itself, a soul that is not satisfied, knowledge that does not benefit, and a supplication that is not answered. He said: Zayd ibn Arqam said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to teach them to us, and we teach them to you.
