حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ قَالَ جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا تُرِيحُنِي مِنْ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ وَكَانَ بَيْتًا فِي خَثْعَمَ يُسَمَّى كَعْبَةَ الْيَمَانِيَةِ فَنَفَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فِي سَبْعِينَ وَمِائَةِ فَارِسٍ مِنْ أَحْمَسَ قَالَ فَأَتَاهَا فَحَرَّقَهَا بِالنَّارِ وَبَعَثَ جَرِيرٌ بَشِيرًا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أَتَيْتُكَ حَتَّى تَرَكْتُهَا كَأَنَّهَا جَمَلٌ أَجْرَبُ فَبَرَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى خَيْلِ أَحْمَسَ وَرِجَالِهَا خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ.
English Translation
Yazid told us: Isma'il informed us, from Qays, who said: Jarir ibn Abdullah said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me, "Will you not relieve me of Dhu al-Khalasa?" - and it was a house among Khath'am called the Yemeni Ka'ba. So I set out toward it with a hundred and seventy horsemen from Ahmas. He said: He went to it and burned it with fire, and Jarir sent Bashir to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "By Him who sent you with truth, I did not come to you until I had left it like a mangy camel." So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, blessed the horses and men of Ahmas five times.
