حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَيْسَ بْنَ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الصُّنَابِحِيَّ الْبَجَلِيَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَمُكَاثِرٌ بِكُمْ الْأُمَمَ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ أَوْ قَالَ النَّاسَ فَلَا تَقْتَتِلُنَّ بَعْدِي حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ الْأَحْمَسِيِّ مِثْلَهُ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, who said: I heard Qays ibn Abi Hazim say: I heard al-Sunabihi al-Bajali say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "I am your forerunner at the Basin, and I will boast of your numbers before the other nations" - Shu'bah said, or he said "before the people" - "so do not fight and kill one another after me." Ibn Numayr told us, from Isma'il, from Qays, from al-Sunabihi al-Ahmasi, similarly.
