English Translation

Abdullah ibn Muhammad narrated to us - and I also heard it myself from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shayba - Ali ibn Hashim narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Thabit, who said: I was sitting with Abdur Rahman ibn Abi Layla in the mosque when a large man was brought, and he said, "O Abu Isa." He said, "Yes." He said, "Tell us what you heard about furs." He said: I heard my father say: I was sitting with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, may I pray in fur?" He said, "Where is the tanning?" When he turned to leave, I said, "Who is this?" He said, "This is Suwayd ibn Ghafala."
