حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ { لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنَى وَزِيَادَةٌ } قَالَ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ نَادَى مُنَادٍ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ إِنَّ لَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مَوْعِدًا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُنْجِزَكُمُوهُ فَيَقُولُونَ وَمَا هُوَ أَلَمْ يُثَقِّلْ مَوَازِينَنَا وَيُبَيِّضْ وُجُوهَنَا وَيُدْخِلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ وَيُجِرْنَا مِنْ النَّارِ قَالَ فَيُكْشَفُ لَهُمْ الْحِجَابُ فَيَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا أَعْطَاهُمْ شَيْئًا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ النَّظَرِ إِلَيْهِ وَلَا أَقَرَّ بِأَعْيُنِهِمْ.
English Translation
Affan told us, Hammad informed us, Thabit informed us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Suhayb, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recited this verse: {For those who have done good is the best reward, and even more}. He said, "When the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of the Fire enter the Fire, a caller will call out: 'O people of Paradise, you have with Allah a promise that He wishes to fulfill for you.' They will say, 'What is it? Has He not made our scales heavy, whitened our faces, admitted us into Paradise, and delivered us from the Fire?' He said: Then the veil will be lifted for them, and they will look at Him." He said, "By Allah, He has not given them anything more beloved to them than looking at Him, nor anything more soothing to their eyes."
