حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُكَيْمٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ أَتَانَا كِتَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ بِأَرْضِ جُهَيْنَةَ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ شَابٌّ أَنْ لَا تَنْتَفِعُوا مِنْ الْمَيْتَةِ بِإِهَابٍ وَلَا عَصَبٍ.
English Translation
Waki' and Ibn Ja'far told us, they said: Shu'bah told us, from al-Hakam, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla - Ibn Ja'far said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Ukaym al-Juhani, who said: A letter of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, reached us while we were in the land of Juhaynah, and I was a young boy, saying: Do not benefit from a dead animal's hide or sinew.
