حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجَمَ يَهُودِيًّا وَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنِّي أَوَّلُ مَنْ أَحْيَا سُنَّةً قَدْ أَمَاتُوهَا.
English Translation
Waki' told us, he said: al-A'mash told us, from Abdullah ibn Murrah, from al-Bara' ibn Azib, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered the stoning of a Jew and said: "O Allah, I call You to witness that I am the first to revive a sunnah which they had killed."
