حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ يُحَدِّثُ قَوْمًا فِيهِمْ كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لِلْأَنْصَارِ إِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً قَالُوا فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا قَالَ اصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, who said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla say: I heard al-Bara' narrating to a group of people, among whom was Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say to the Ansar, "You will meet, after me, a preference of others over you." They said, "What do you command us to do?" He said, "Be patient until you meet me at the Pond."
