حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ الرُّكَيْنِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ مَرَّ بِنَا نَاسٌ مُنْطَلِقُونَ فَقُلْنَا أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ فَقَالُوا بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ أَتَى امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ أَنْ نَقْتُلَهُ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from al-Rukayn ibn al-Rabi', who said: I heard Adi ibn Thabit narrate from al-Bara' ibn Azib, who said: Some people passed by us, setting off, and we said, "Where are you going?" They said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent us to a man who came to his father's wife, to kill him."
