قَالَ وَكَانَ يَأْتِينَا إِذَا قُمْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَيَمْسَحُ عَوَاتِقَنَا أَوْ صُدُورَنَا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ أَوْ الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ.
English Translation
He said: He used to come to us when we stood for prayer and wipe our shoulders or our chests, and he used to say, "Do not differ, or your hearts will differ," and he used to say, "Allah and His angels send blessings upon the front row"—or "the front rows."
