English Translation
Isma'il narrated to us: Khalid narrated to us, from Abu al-Ala' ibn al-Shikhkhir, from his brother Mutarrif, from Iyad ibn Himar, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever finds a lost item, let him have it witnessed by one just person or two just persons, and let him not conceal it nor hide it away. If its owner comes, he has the greater right to it; otherwise it is simply wealth of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills.
