English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Balj, who said: I said to Muhammad ibn Hatib: I have married two women without a tambourine being beaten for me. He said: You have done badly. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the sound - meaning the beating of the tambourine.
