حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَاعْمَلُوا خَيْرًا وَافْعَلُوا فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَعْقِلٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ.
English Translation
Affan narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, who said: Guard yourselves against the Fire, do good and act, for I heard Abdullah ibn Ma'qil say: I heard Adi ibn Hatim say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Guard yourselves against the Fire, even with half a date.
