حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا عِنْدَ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَسُبُّوا الْأَمْوَاتَ فَتُؤْذُوا الْأَحْيَاءَ.
English Translation
Abd al-Rahman told us, Sufyan told us, from Ziyad ibn Ilaqah, who said: I heard a man in the presence of al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah say: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not revile the dead, lest you cause pain to the living."
