حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ عَنْ الرَّبَابِ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى تَمْرٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ تَمْرًا فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى مَاءٍ فَإِنَّهُ لَهُ طَهُورٌ.
English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us: Asim narrated to us, from Hafsah, from al-Rabab, from Salman ibn Amir al-Dabbi, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'When one of you breaks his fast, let him break it with dates; if he cannot find dates, let him break it with water, for it is purifying for him.'
