حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ بَيْنَا أَنَا فِي مَنَامِي أَتَتْنِي الْمَلَائِكَةُ فَحَمَلَتْ عَمُودَ الْكِتَابِ مِنْ تَحْتِ وِسَادَتِي فَعَمَدَتْ بِهِ إِلَى الشَّامِ أَلَا فَالْإِيمَانُ حَيْثُ تَقَعُ الْفِتَنُ بِالشَّامِ.
English Translation
Abu al-Yaman told us, he said: Isma'il ibn Ayyash told us, from Abd al-Aziz ibn Ubaydillah, from Abdullah ibn al-Harith, who said: I heard Amr ibn al-As say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "While I was asleep, the angels came to me and carried the pillar of the Book from beneath my pillow, and made for al-Sham with it. Indeed, faith is where the tribulations occur, in al-Sham."
