English Translation

Waki' told us, Sufyan told us, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-Muraqqa' ibn Sayfi, from Hanzalah the scribe, who said: We went out on a campaign with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and we passed by a slain woman around whom people had gathered. They made way for him, and he said: This one was not fighting. Then he said to a man: Go to Khalid ibn al-Walid and tell him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commands you not to kill any offspring nor any hired laborer. Husayn ibn Muhammad told us, Ibn Abi al-Zinad told us, from his father, who said: Al-Muraqqa' ibn Sayfi ibn Rabah, the brother of Hanzalah the scribe, informed me, saying: My grandfather informed me that he went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he mentioned the hadith. Ibrahim ibn Abi al-Abbas told us, Ibn Abi al-Zinad told us, from Abu al-Zinad, who said: Al-Muraqqa' ibn Sayfi ibn Rabah informed me that his grandfather Rabah ibn Rabi' informed him, and he mentioned the hadith.
