English Translation

Hushaym told us, Ya'la ibn Ata' told us, Jabir ibn Yazid ibn al-Aswad al-Amiri told me, from his father, who said: I witnessed the Messenger of Allah's, peace and blessings be upon him, Farewell Pilgrimage. He said: I prayed with him the dawn prayer in the Mosque of al-Khayf. When he finished his prayer, there were two men at the back of the mosque who had not prayed with him. He said: Bring them to me. So they were brought, trembling. He said: What prevented you two from praying with us? They said: O Messenger of Allah, we had already prayed in our lodgings. He said: Do not do that; when you have prayed in your lodgings, and then you come to a mosque where there is a congregation, pray with them, for it will be supererogatory for you. My father said: and sometimes it was said to Hushaym: 'When he finished his prayer he turned,' so he would say 'he turned from his place.'
