حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ وَسُرَيْجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَاهُ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ عَنْ عَمْرٍو قَالَ هَارُونُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ شُفَيٍّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ { وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ } أَلَا إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ أَلَا إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ أَلَا إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ.
English Translation
Harun ibn Ma'ruf and Surayj told us, they said: Ibn Wahb told us — Surayj said: from Amr — Harun said: Amr ibn al-Harith informed me, from Abu Ali Thumamah ibn Shufayy, that he heard Uqbah ibn Amir say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say while on the pulpit: 'And prepare against them whatever force you can' — indeed, strength is archery; indeed, strength is archery; indeed, strength is archery.
