حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَخْبَرَنَا حَيْوَةُ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مِشْرَحَ بْنَ هَاعَانَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَعَلَّقَ تَمِيمَةً فَلَا أَتَمَّ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَمَنْ تَعَلَّقَ وَدَعَةً فَلَا وَدَعَ اللَّهُ لَهُ.
English Translation
Abu Abd al-Rahman told us, Haywah informed us, Khalid ibn Ubayd informed us, who said: I heard Mishrah ibn Ha'an say: I heard Uqbah ibn Amir say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever hangs an amulet, may Allah not complete (his affair) for him; and whoever hangs a shell-talisman, may Allah not grant him peace.
