حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شِمَاسَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يَدْخُلُ صَاحِبُ مَكْسٍ الْجَنَّةَ يَعْنِي الْعَشَّارَ.
English Translation
Yazid narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq told us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Shimasah, who said: I heard 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir al-Juhani say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "The one who imposes unlawful tolls will not enter Paradise" - meaning the tax-collector.
