قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَبِيلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْكِتَابَ وَاللَّبَنَ قَالَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا بَالُ الْكِتَابِ قَالَ يَتَعَلَّمُهُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ ثُمَّ يُجَادِلُونَ بِهِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فَقِيلَ وَمَا بَالُ اللَّبَنِ قَالَ أُنَاسٌ يُحِبُّونَ اللَّبَنَ فَيَخْرُجُونَ مِنْ الْجَمَاعَاتِ وَيَتْرُكُونَ الْجُمُعَاتِ.
English Translation
[The narrator] said: Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, he said: Abu Qabil narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "What I fear most for my community is [the misuse of] writing and milk." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter with writing?" He said, "The hypocrites learn it and then use it to argue against those who believe." Then it was said, "And what is the matter with milk?" He said, "People who love milk, so they leave the [Muslim] communities and abandon the Friday prayers."
