English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abi 'Adiyy narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to me, from Marthad ibn 'Abdullah al-Yazani, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Juhani, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Tomorrow I am riding out to the Jews, so do not greet them first with the salaam; if they greet you, then say, 'and upon you.'" 'Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja'far and Ibn Lahi'ah differed with him, both saying it was from Abu Basrah. Abu 'Asim narrated to us from 'Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja'far, [saying] "Abu Basrah," meaning in the version of Ibn Abi 'Adiyy from Ibn Ishaq.
