حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيَّ شَمْلَةٌ أَوْ شَمْلَتَانِ فَقَالَ لِي هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَدْ آتَانِي اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ كُلِّ مَالِهِ مِنْ خَيْلِهِ وَإِبِلِهِ وَغَنَمِهِ وَرَقِيقِهِ فَقَالَ فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَلْيَرَ عَلَيْكَ نِعْمَتَهُ فَرُحْتُ إِلَيْهِ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ قَالَ فَغَدَوْتُ إِلَيْهِ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ.
English Translation
Yazid narrated to us: Sharik b. Abdullah informed us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Ahwas, from his father, who said: "I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing one or two worn cloaks, and he said to me: 'Do you have any wealth?' I said: 'Yes, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has given me of all kinds of wealth - of his horses, camels, sheep, and slaves.' He said: 'If Allah has given you wealth, then let the sign of His favor be seen upon you.' So I went to him wearing a fine garment." Aswad b. Amir narrated to us: Sharik narrated to us, and mentioned it with its chain and its meaning, saying: "So I went to him in the morning wearing a red garment."
