English Translation
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us from Husayn al-Mu'allim, who said: Abd Allah ibn Buraydah narrated to me from Bushayr ibn Ka'b, from Shaddad ibn Aws, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: The master of seeking forgiveness is that the servant says: O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I hold to Your covenant and promise as best I can. I acknowledge before You Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge before You my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You. He said: If he says it after entering the morning, believing firmly in it, and then dies that day, he will be among the people of Paradise; and if he says it after entering the evening, believing firmly in it, and then dies that night, he will be among the people of Paradise.
