حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مِينَاءَ أَنَّ يَزِيدَ بْنَ جَارِيَةَ أخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُعَاوِيَةُ فَسَأَلَهُمْ عَنْ حَدِيثِهِمْ فَقَالُوا كُنَّا فِي حَدِيثٍ مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ أَلَا أَزِيدُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا بَلَى يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَحَبَّ الْأَنْصَارَ أَحَبَّهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَ الْأَنْصَارَ أَبْغَضَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مِينَاءَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَفِي مَجْلِسِ مُعَاوِيَةَ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ وَنَحْنُ نَتَحَدَّثُ إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.
English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun informed us: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated that Sa'd ibn Ibrahim informed him from al-Hakam ibn Mina' that Yazid ibn Jariya informed him: that he was sitting among a group of the Ansar when Mu'awiya came out to them and asked them about their conversation. They said: 'We were discussing something concerning the Ansar.' Mu'awiya said: 'Shall I not add for you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?' They said: 'Yes indeed, O Commander of the Faithful.' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever loves the Ansar, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, loves him, and whoever hates the Ansar, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, hates him.' Ya'qub narrated to us: my father narrated to me from his father, who said: al-Hakam ibn Mina' informed me from Yazid ibn Jariya, who said: I was in a gathering of Mu'awiya's, among a group of the Ansar, and we were conversing, when Mu'awiya came out to us - and he mentioned its like.
