English Translation
He said: Yahya told us, from Shu'bah, he said: Abu al-Tayyah told us, from Mutarrif, from Ibn Mughaffal, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered the killing of dogs, then said: What is the matter with them and it? So he made an exception for the hunting dog and the herding dog. He said: And when a dog laps in a vessel, wash it seven times, and the eighth time scour it with earth.
