قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُمْ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَنَا أَجْرٌ بِمَكَّةَ قَالَ لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ أُجُورُكُمْ وَلَوْ كُنْتُمْ فِي جُحْرِ ثَعْلَبٍ قَالَ فَأَصْغَى إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَأْسِهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ فِي أَصْحَابِي مُنَافِقِينَ.
English Translation
He said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, he said: Shu'bah told us, from al-Nu'man ibn Salim, from a man, from Jubayr ibn Mut'im, who said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, they claim that we have no reward at Mecca. He said: Your rewards will surely come to you, even if you were in a fox's den. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, inclined his head toward me and said: Among my companions there are hypocrites.
